Because I always design in Vector using Adobe Illustrator I have come across a great website which has tons of free vector icons, backgrounds, shapes which you can use in your design.

The icons you can see above are just a small example of things you can find over there but I highly recommend that you sign up to their RSS feed to be kept up to date with the latest free vectors you can get for use in your projects.
